Woman is the builder and moulder of a nation’s destiny, though delicate and soft as lily, she has a heart, far stronger and bolder than of man, she is the supreme inspiration for man’s onward march.” –Rabindranath Tagore
Women empowerment-not just a word but a powerful phenomenon. Its unfolding has brought radical changes in society. Women being powered by the elixir of life need to break away from the bondage inflicted on them and have to go to another realm of their existence to secure their rights and muster resilience.
Women need to wake up from the dream and shatter the glass ceiling to come out of this extricable maze and reshape society. In this regard, to think of her needs, advancing equity and gaining grounds on the development of a nation, wherein all are fairly treated, is of vital importance.
As women constitute a major part of the population, by not tapping their potential, we are not optimizing the national growth. This is the time of great awakening, a time to call for action. We, as a society, need to think of the ways to extend help to make her stand poised to regenerate nature. The empowerment of women by itself cannot place women on equal footing with men, the need of the hour is the change of social attitudes towards them.
We, as a society, need to create more jobs for them or create work opportunities and look for ways to infuse them with confidence to conquer the world. While doing this, it is imperative that we have our trust in her inherent strength. We need to support her financially to ameliorate the negative attitude we hold for this fairer sex. Opportunities need to be created for their economic independence, keeping in mind her indulgence in household chores, to avant-garde this movement of radical social reform and take it to the next level.
